Two-step verification

Your account opens on a new phone or computer only after a code from your email. It takes a minute to turn on.

Turn it on

Open Purple, go to Settings and tap Two-step verification. Enter your email and tap Send code. We send a 6-digit code to that email. Enter it, and your account is protected.

On a new phone or computer

When Purple opens somewhere new, it asks “Is it you?” before anything else opens. Tap Send code, enter the code from your email, and you’re in. Phones and computers where you’ve already entered a code open as usual.

In the appA new device asks for a code

How the code works

  • A code works for 10 minutes.
  • After 5 wrong tries, ask for a new code.
  • You can get a new code once a minute, up to 5 an hour.

The email comes from Purple and shows the code in a grey box. Didn’t ask for a code? Ignore the email: without the code, your account won’t open on a new device. Never share the code with anyone, even someone who says they’re from Purple.

Turn it off

Go to Settings › Two-step verification and tap Turn off. Purple asks for a code from your email here too, so only you can switch it off. Lost access to your email? Write to us.
